John T. Wisell, Esq.

John T. Wisell, Esq.

I have practiced law for over 20 years, concentrating in medical malpractice and general negligence cases. The reason I’ve remained in the same profession for so long is that I receive tremendous satisfaction when I resolve a case positively for a client. When someone has been harmed by a doctor or injured in an accident their world is turned upside down. I work hard to help them put the pieces back together.

I realize the legal process can be confusing and very slow. That’s why my staff and I are available by phone, or in person, any time a client wants to discuss the status of their case. My firm will try our best to answer all questions along the way.

In addition to my career as an attorney, I’m married and the father of three girls. For over ten years I have been a volunteer coach for girls travel soccer and girls basketball. I’ve tried to teach my players the value of hard work and the rewards that come when you dedicate yourself to something. Working with young players has also taught me the importance of patience, as well as the value of really listening. I try to use those skills in my career so I can hear what clients are trying to say and translate that into a good result for them.

I’m a graduate of Chaminade High School,  Franklin & Marshall College and Hofstra University Law School. Prior to opening my own practice in 1997, I was a trial attorney at a Brooklyn law firm, and then at a medical malpractice firm in Manhattan. I am admitted to practice law in New York State and the Federal Courts of the Eastern and Southern District. I am an active member of the American Association for Justice and am a member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association.
